چکیده
Pyogenic infection is characterized by several local inflammation, usually with pus formation, generally caused by one of the pyogenic bacteria, which can produce the accumulation of dead leukocytes and infectious agent commonly known as pus. Pyogenic infections may be endogenous or exogenous . A break or abrasion in the skin can provide an entryway for these surface bacteria into the body, and they stick very well to the moist edges of a cut. The bacteria begin to multiply and extend into the cut. The body’s defense mechanism includes bringing immune cells into the area to fight against the bacteria. Streptococcus agalactiae-associated Urinary Tract Infections amongst Male Patients at a Tertiary Care Setting in Southwest India
Introduction: The occurrence of urinary tract infections (UTIs) caused by the group B Streptococcus (GBS) in females is well documented. On the contrary, the prevalence amongst males is infrequent, and studies from the Indian subcontinent are limited. This study aimed to determine the occurrence of GBS bacteriuria and its antibiotic susceptibility profile amongst male patients. Methods: Clean-c...
متن کاملPrevalence and Antimicrobial Susceptibility of Bacteria Isolated from Surgical Site and Bloodstream Infections of Hospitalized Patients at a Tertiary Heart Center
Background and Objectives: Bacterial bloodstream infections (BSIs) and surgical site infections (SSIs) are among the most common nosocomial infections with high mortality and morbidity. We aimed to evaluate the frequency of various species among BSIs and SSIs at Tehran Heart Center, Tehran, Iran. Methods: Patients with localized or systemic infections that became evident 48 hours or more after...
متن کاملHigh Burden of Antimicrobial Resistance among Bacteria Causing Pyogenic Wound Infections at a Tertiary Care Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal
Pyogenic wound infections are one of the most common clinical entities caused and aggravated by the invasion of pathogenic organisms. Prompt and aggressive antimicrobial therapy is needed to reduce the burden and complications associated with these infections. In this study, we intended to investigate the common pathogens and their antimicrobial susceptibility patterns from the pyogenic wound i...
